Roy Wayne Jernigan, Sr.

Roy Wayne Jernigan, Sr., 54, of Toledo, OH passed away Friday, December 22, 2017 at his daughter’s residence in Port Clinton, OH. He was born on September 23, 1963 in Toledo, OH to Roy Thomas and Belva Jean (Bennet) Jernigan. Roy graduated in 1981 from Waite High School in Toledo. He served in the U.S. Marines after high school. Roy worked as a self-employed contractor. He was known as a big jokester who made people smile. Roy enjoyed watching Westerns and playing poker. He was a “professional procrastinator” who definitely loved life and lived it to the fullest. Roy is survived by his children, Melissa (Joe) Irwin, Nathon Morgan, Amanda (Justin) Massie, Roy W. Jernigan, Jr., and Jamie (Rich) Hamilton, many grandchildren, brother, William Roscoe Jernigan, sister, Sue (Mike) King, sister-in-law, Kathy Morgan, step-father, Dan Arnold, and many nieces nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Cremation will take place under the direct care of the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, Port Clinton. Family plans will be announced at a later date for memorial services.
