Roy Carl Gruetter

Roy “Carl” Gruetter, 88, of Millbury, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was born in Walbridge on March 22, 1930 to Otto and Selma (Geiner) Gruetter. He worked for Toledo Edison as a lineman for 35 years before retiring in 1990. He enjoyed gardening, taking care of his lawn and flowers, and going on walks. Carl is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Eileen (Felser); children, John (Dee) Gruetter, Sue Miller, Jim Gruetter, Nancy (Ray) Stribrny, Rob Gruetter; grandchildren, Tony, Roy, Christa, Ryan, and Otto Gruetter, and Sarah and Brian Stribrny; siblings, Richard (June), Raymond, Lester “Butch”, Virginia “Ginny”; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister; grandson, Timmy; and son-in-law, John Miller. Friends will be received on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 701 N. Main Street, Walbridge, OH (419-666-3121). Following Carl’s wishes, a private Funeral Service for family will be held with burial taking place at Restlawn Memorial Park.
