Roy J. Daum

Leroy J. Roy Daum age 87 of South Toledo passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, February 2, 2016 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. Roy was born in Upper Sandusky, OH on November 4, 1928 to Adolph and Sarah (Karg) Daum. He was employed as a tool and die maker at the former Doehler-Jarvis for 40 years. Roy was a member of St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church. He enjoyed collecting Coco-Cola memorabilia, gardening, meticulously caring for his lawn, chess and working in his garage which was his second home. Roy was very creative and was always working on projects such as building cabinets, refinishing his basement and fixing anything he could for others. Surviving is his loving wife of 19 years, Martha; son, Steve (Vicki) Daum; daughter, Cynthia (Bill) Cowell; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Leona (Zarecki) Daum and daughter, Carolyne Smith. Family and friends may visit at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home 501 Conant St., Maumee on Thursday, February 4, 2016 from 3-8 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, February 5, 2016 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
