Roxie E. Youngs

Roxie E. Youngs, 78, of Columbus and formerly of Toledo, passed peacefully from this life on September 3, 2011. Roxie was born September 6, 1932 in Birmingham, Alabama. She was employed for 17 years with Hunts foods and was a devoted homemaker, mother and grandmother. Roxie was a tremendous athlete, including participating in the 100 meter dash Olympic qualifying for the State of Alabama in 1948. She is lovingly survived by her sons, Milo and Kevin Young; grandchildren, James, Maya and Bryant; and 10 great grandchildren. Her son, James, also preceded her in death. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, September 16, 2011 in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 West Sylvania Avenue west of Corey Rd.. Burial will follow at Forest Cemetery.
