Roxanne R. "Roxy" Simpson

January 24, 1953 — December 10, 2025

Woodville

Roxanne R. "Roxy" Simpson, 72, of Woodville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025, at St. Charles Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family. Born January 24, 1953, in Findlay, Ohio, she was the daughter of Glenn and Helen Carpenter. She attended Waite High School.

While visiting her sister at work, Roxy met the love of her life, James "Jim" Simpson. The two were married on November 2, 1984, at Heatherdowns Church of the Brethren, beginning more than four decades of love and laughter.

Roxy worked for a short time at Canteen before finding her true calling as a caregiver. For more than 35 years, she dedicated herself to babysitting from her home, nurturing and guiding children from infancy through grade school. Roxy became a beloved and dependable presence in the lives of many families; someone parents trusted and children adored.

She and Jim cherished their time together, whether it was enjoying a meal at Red Lobster, relaxing on trips to the Outer Banks, playing bingo, or watching the races. Roxy was an avid NASCAR fan, cheering enthusiastically for her favorite driver, #6 Mark Martin. She also loved spending time with her granddaughter watching scary movies, and she enjoyed relaxing with games on her tablet.

Roxy had a remarkable love for family traditions, especially taking photos and decorating for the holidays. She adored her African Gray parrot, Scarlet, and lovingly remembered her dog, Oliver, who had passed before her.

Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, Jim; her children, Jennifer (Pat) Dunn and Randy (Tracie) Binion; her stepdaughter, Ann Simpson; grandchildren, Travis, Ashley, Jacey, Jordyn, and Brandon; great-grandchildren, Rose, Caralina, Emmett, Landon, and Mara; and her sisters, Jackie Perkins, Pat Snyder, Ellie Watson, and Sonny Zam. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Rusty Carpenter and Bud Carpenter; and her sister, Harlene Shirey.

A time of gathering to honor Roxy's life will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, 501 West Street, Genoa, Ohio. A celebration of Roxy's life will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations in her honor may be made to an organization of the donor's choice.
