Roxana Gail Kendzel

Roxana Gail Kendzel, age 82, passed away Monday April 17, 2017 at her home. The daughter of John and Doris Gilbert, she was born November 4, 1934 in Bay Village, OH. She worked for Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities for over 30 years as a caregiver and assistant teacher. Roxana had a sincere passion for working with children with developmental disabilities. When she was not caring for the children of Cuyahoga County, she dedicated herself to her daughter Sheryl, who was born with cerebral palsy. She was a devote member of North Olmsted Assembly of God where she developed many great relationships. She loved to read and care for her pets. As a young girl, she was raised in Bay Village on the lake, which instilled in her a love for water and swimming. She was a fan of all the professional sports teams in Cleveland. She always had a love of the theatre and earlier in her life had the opportunity to perform in numerous plays at the Beck Center for the Arts in Lakewood. Roxana was person of great faith, with an amazingly beautiful personality and strength that others could rely on. She is survived by daughters, Deborah A. Miller, Sheryl Kendzel; son, John A. (Ginger Stapleton) Kendzel; grandchildren, Brian (Melissa Santoro), Steven and Matthew Miller, Jennifer (Jonathan) Stoker, Alyssa (Dr. Thomas) Kendzel-Litzinger, Mitchell Kendzel, Andria, Seth and Stephen Barlage; great grandchildren, Robert, Jude, Kylie and Kaden; and 4 neices and 3 nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Allyn Kendzel; sister, Barbara Boys; brother, John Gilbert Jr. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM April 22, 2017 at North Olmsted Assembly of God 3874 Columbia Rd North Olmsted, OH 44070.
