Roswell E. Ross Lutz, 99, of Toledo, passed away May 12, 2011 at Lake Park Comfort Care, Sylvania. Ross was born August 2, 1911 in Sylvania to the late Emmet A. and Pearl S. Schumacher Lutz. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Schuette Lutz in 2007; a son, Robert; brother, Russell; and sister, Dorothy May. Mr. Lutz was employed at both Rumpf and Duff Truck Lines working in sales, as an inspector and terminal manager. He was a life member of Port Lawrence Masonic Lodge #685 now Paragon, Scottish Rite Valley of Toledo, Toledo Elks Lodge, and Zenobia Shrine, where he was a member of the Drum and Bugle Corps. Ross also played the drums in his own orchestra, R & L Orchestra, in Toledo, Indiana and Michigan. He is lovingly survived by his children and their spouses, Donna Jerome Murd, Gary Jackie Lutz and James Georgeann Lutz; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and brother, Art Lutz. Family and friends will be received in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Avenue west of Corey Road on Sunday from 2-8 p.m. where Masonic Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 16, 2011 in the funeral home with the Rev. Frank Murd presiding. Burial will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. Memorials are suggested to Lake Park Memory Ward or Shriners Hospitals for Crippled Children.
