Ross W. Abbott

Ross W. Abbott, 71, of Genoa, Ohio, died August 15, 2009 in his residence. Ross was born in Wyandot, Michigan on January 30, 1938 to Ross and Ada Baggs Abbott. He married Donna Faye Peace in Toledo, OH on April 1, 1971 and she preceded him in death September 2, 1997. Ross was the owner and operator of the former D & R Auto in Genoa and had worked for the Nicholson Concrete Co. of Toledo, OH. He was a car buff and enjoyed restoring classic cars. Ross loved his family and enjoyed being around people. He could be found telling stories and was known as a good jokester! Ross is survived by his children, Shellie Dick Weber, Northwood, OH, Sandy Mercer, Toledo, Daniel Sherri Abbott, Clay Center, OH, George Mary Kellerbauer, Oregon, OH, Brenda Duke, Genoa, Laura Herbert Kennedy, Toledo, Chris Abbott, Genoa, Penney Abbott, Toledo, Rossi Kelly Abbott II, Genoa, 17 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his siblings, Charlie Fayetta Abbott, TN, Faye Royer, MI, Kathy Red Wunderlich, MI, Janice Howard, MI, sister-in-law, Hope Anderson, Northwood, OH, and his longtime companion, Linda Draeger of Genoa, along with many nieces and nephews. Ross was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother, James Anderson. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 12:30 PM, Wednesday, August 19, 2009 in the Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa, OH. Visitation will be in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, 501 West St., Genoa, OH from 9-12 noon on Wednesday morning. Memorial contributions for Ross may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E.
