Rosemary Seemann

Rosemary Seemann, 80, of Maumee, Ohio passed away September 13, 2011 at Northwest Ohio Hospice surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 10, 1930 in Washington DC. Rose was a 1948 graduate of Hunter High School in New York City. She attended nursing school at Bellevue Hospital and in 1951 received her RN diploma. She met her future husband Dan who was attending Columbia College during this time. Rose was selected Sweetheart of Sigma Chi during their courtship. Rose and Dan were married in 1953 in New York City. After Dans tour in Korea, Rose and Dan returned to Toledo and started their family. Rose continued to work as a nurse at St. Charles and Toledo Hospitals where she was one of the first to work as a scrub nurse in open heart surgery. The joys of Roses life were raising her four children and supporting her husband. Rose was always pleasant, humble and encouraging to others. Rose enjoyed frequent visits to the library and her childrens athletic activities. She was a great source of inspiration to her family and she will be sorely missed. Rose was preceded in death by her mother Anna Lynn, in-laws Dan and Bess Seemann and sister in-law Patti Jones. Survivors include Dan, her husband of 58 years. Also surviving are sons Jeff Nadine of Sylvania, OH, Greg Mary of Leesburg, VA., Mitch Sharon of Littleton, CO. and daughter Anne Don of Holgate, OH. as well as 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. The family will receive visitors on Thrusday, September 15, 2011 in the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Homes 501 Conant St. Maumee, OH 43537 from 3-8pm. A funeral mass will take place on Friday, September 16, 2011 at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Catholic Church. The family is grateful for the excellent care given by the Neuro ICU and Palliative Care Units of St. Vincents Hospital and the Northwest Ohio Hospice in Perrysburg.
