Rosemary Promenschenkel

Rosemary Promenschenkel, 92, of Genoa, died early Wednesday morning, April 2, 2008, in the Genoa Retirement Village. She was born June 26, 1915, in Shelby, Ohio, to Joseph W. and Anna V. Yetzer Promenschenkel. She graduated from Central Catholic High School and the Mercy School of Nursing. Rosemary began her career as a registered nurse at Libbey Owens Ford Glass Co. in Rossford, and then served as a nurse in the U.S. Army for one year, returning to Libbey Owens at the East Broadway plant. She then went to work for Dr. Ed Schuiteman in 1949 in Genoa; and when Dr. Schuiteman retired in 1970, Rosemary returned to Libbey Owens for 10 more years retiring in 1980. Rosemary was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Genoa and served on the Altar Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Genoa Federation of Clubs and assisted with the Ottawa County Holiday Bureau. She is survived by her nieces, Sister Joanne Boellner RSM of Toledo, Mary Boellner of Maumee and Martha Kleinfelter of Milford, Ohio, and nephews, Anthony Casey Boellner of Neapolis, Ohio, John Boellner of Maumee and James Sally Promenschenkel of Dublin, Ohio. She is also survived by eight great nieces and nephews and six great-great nieces and nephews. Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Joseph, Paul and Leo and sister, Helen Boellner. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2008, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, Genoa, with the Rosary to be recited at 7:30 p.m. The funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Saturday, April 5, 2008, in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Toledo. Memorials for Rosemary may be directed to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Genoa.
