Rosemary Powell

Rosemary Powell passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on October 4, 2022, at the age of 92. Born on June 29, 1930, to Frank and Rose (Kramer) Romeo, she was one of three children. Graduating from Libbey High School in 1947, Rosemary went right to work for Ohio Bell. She held various positions including operator and worked there for over 41 years.

During that time, she met the love of her life, Richard Powell and they were wed in 1956. Their lives were full of joy and a whole lotta love until he sadly passed away exactly 14 years ago on October 4, 2008.

Rosemary also fondly referred to as “Granny” was caring and giving to almost everyone she encountered. She helped any family member in need and raised two of her grandchildren. You could always find her singing her favorite song. She loved all music, and her life was filled to overflowing with love and grace. She always saw the best in people.

Rosemary had a sweet tooth that included coffee and any sweet treat, and her daily caramel frappe were some of her favorites. In her younger years, she and Richard would love to go fishing, camping, and hanging with friends. She also played a mean hand of Euchre and was an avid Bingo player.

She will be dearly missed by all who knew her loving kindness. She touched so many lives. Those that will cherish her memory are her children David Powell, Gary Powell, Gene Powell, Diane (Ric) Roe; grandchildren, Mandy Powell, Jessica Avalos, Shaun Powell, Sarah Stewart, Tabbatha Kelsey, Gene Powell Jr., Colleen Sewell, Richard Roe Jr., Cory Roe, Sabreena Powell; 21 Great-Grandchildren; 6 Great-Great Grandchildren.

The family will welcome visitors on Monday, October 10 from 5-8pm at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home (501 Conant St.) and on Tuesday, October 11, at 11am for a Celebration of Life. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Condolences can be made at walkerfuneralhomes.com.
