Rosemary Lannen

Rosemary Lannen, 97, of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away on November 11, 2025 at Edgewood Manor Nursing Center in Port Clinton. She was born on July 27, 1928 in Fostoria, Ohio, the daughter of Frank and Cora (Martin) Brickner.

She graduated from St. Wendelin High School in 1946 where she was a cheerleader and salutatorian of her graduation class. She worked in the office of Flechtner’s Bros. Meat Plant. She married James Lannen in 1947 and they moved to Port Clinton in 1955 when he was employed by the American Bank, and during that time she worked at Midland Title Company and the Port Clinton School Library.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Altar Rosary Society, and a hospitality minister for many years.

Rosemary was a life member of Magruder Hospital Auxiliary and a volunteer at the hospital for many years, earning a 2300 hour pin. She also served as the volunteer chairwoman of the Red Cross Bloodmobile from 1981-1986. She was a member of the Silver Steppers line dance group for thirteen years and the Port Clinton Ladies Golf League.

Her hobbies were golfing, playing cards, painting pictures, reading, playing the organ, and bird watching.

She is survived by her son, Steve, of Port Clinton; along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; brother, Robert Brickner; and sisters, Loretta Ball and Dorothy Cole.

Visitation will be held at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, 216 Washington Street, Port Clinton, Ohio on Sunday, November 16, 2025 from 2-4 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 414 Madison Street, Port Clinton, Ohio on Monday, November 17, 2025 at 10 am with Fr. Jonathan Wight officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Island Cemetery.
