Rosemary Harroun

November 2, 1923 — December 22, 2022

Rosemary Harroun, 99, widow of Wayne Edwin Harroun died peacefully at home surrounded by her family, Thursday, December 22, 2022.

Rosemary had a lifetime devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and during her senior year at Central Catholic, crowned the Virgin Mary during the annual May crowning ceremony. After graduating from Central Catholic, Rosemary continued her education at the College of St. Francis obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry and began working at Dana Corporation as a chemist during the war.

Rosemary was an active member of St Joseph Parish for sixty years and during her lifetime was active in many organizations which benefited her children (girl scout leader), and the community by delivering mobile meals and volunteering at Lake Park as a member of the Flower Hospital Auxiliary. Rosemary actively participated as well in the Women's Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus and the Women's Auxiliary of the Home Builder's Association.

Rosemary served as the Secretary/Treasurer of a family business, The ABCD Reality Co., begun by her grandfather, Dolphus Joseph Marleau, who named his newly built apartment building after his only granddaughter, Rosemary. Thus, the Rosemary Apartments were born serving Toledo well for many generations.

Together with her husband, Wayne, they built a family company, the Overhead Door Corporation of Toledo. Three generations of the family have continued Rosemary and Wayne's legacy and are still serving the Toledo area.

Enjoying Golf, Rosemary and Wayne were members of Sylvania Country Club and Brandywine Country Club in the Toledo area and Waterford Golf Club in Venice, Florida.

Rosemary enjoyed stimulating her mind and to that end she was an avid bridge player, delighting in winning matches. Playing mahjong and sudoku were also favorite activities with which she challenged herself.

She is survived by her daughters Janice (Timothy) Scovic, Diane (Lee) Huss; her grandchildren, Michael Huss (Kelly), Mark (Karina) Huss, Julie (Jason) Wolfe, Timothy (Jill) Scovic, Thomas (Katherine) Scovic; and 12 great grandchildren, who will cherish their memories of her as a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sylvania, on Thursday, December 29th at 10AM with a celebration of life to follow.
