Roselyn Mae Lenz Cayia, age 87, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on July 15, 1925, to Julius and Amelia Ringer Lenz, and was the youngest of 10 children. Roselyn was a graduate of Waite High School in 1943, then worked at Sun Oil as a secretary. She married her beloved husband, Thomas, on May 17, 1947 after falling in love through letters exchanged while he was serving in the army during WWII. Rosie cherished the life she shared with Tom, raising their family of four daughters. She was known for baking and giving away her delicious Christmas cookies and pastries. She was a member of the Maumee United Methodist Church since 1947. Rosie is survived by her husband of 65 years, Tom Cayia; daughters Linda Lyle Rice of Portage, MI; Brenda Fuller of Maumee; Cathy Rick Bossa of Toledo; Melody Alan Varney of Maumee; grandchildren Erica Joe Sarnowski, Benjamin Virginia Bossa, Thomas, Andrew, Jodi Jon Rodda and Ryan Jenn Varney; and 10 great grandchildren. Rosie was a loving daughter, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, neighbor and friend. Her compliant disposition and sweet smile won over all of the nurses who cared for her at St. Lukes, Hospice of NW Ohio, and Elizabeth Scott Nursing Home. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. The family will receive visitors on Friday, May 10th from 4:00:-7:00 p.m. at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home 501 Conant Street Maumee, Ohio 43537. Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 11th. at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Maumee. The family requests any memorials be made to Maumee Valley Church, 8715 Garden Rd., Maumee or to Hospice of NW Ohio.
