Rose Marie Ragan

Rose Marie (Sendry) Ragan, age 87, of Sylvania, passed on March 1, 2018 with her family by her side. Rose was born June 13, 1930 in Cleveland to the late Paul and Mary (Paliga) Sendry. She married William (Bill) Andrew Ragan on February 16, 1952. Bill, daughter Cheryl Smith, and siblings Paul Sendry and Mary Ann Wadella preceded her in death. A graduate of West Tech High School and Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Rose worked in several fields including elementary and special education, banking and real estate. She was a parishioner at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sylvania where she was active with CRHP, meeting many new sisters. She also had many close and dear friends throughout her lifetime. Rose loved living on the lake, first spending many years on Lake Cable (Canton, OH) followed by Apple Valley (Howard, OH). She had a passion for bridge and enjoyed gardening, golfing, cooking, reading and especially attending her grandchildren’s activities. Rose traveled extensively with her family and always appreciated a good restaurant. She is lovingly remembered for her beauty, intelligence, strength of will and her loving, caring nature that made her easy to get along with, producing many friendships. She will be deeply missed. Surviving are her children, Melissa (Rick) Furman, Jennifer Phillips, Drew (Janet) Ragan and Laura Ragan; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and sister, Jeanette Sendry. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 10, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5373 Main Street, Sylvania, where visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to: St. Joseph Church to the Saint Vincent de Paul Society or St. Joseph’s School for Tuition Assistance.
