Rose Mary Collins, 74, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 23, 2025, at Riverview Senior Healthcare Campus in Oak Harbor. She was born on September 9, 1950, in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Francis and Jeanette (Hamm) Kouts. Rose Mary was married to Steve Collins, who preceded her in death.
Rose Mary dedicated many years of her life working as a health aide with Volunteers of America Northwest Ohio in Port Clinton, where she was known for her compassionate care and commitment to others. After retirement, she continued to embrace life fully, cherishing time with her family and the simple joys of everyday living.
She especially enjoyed shopping and going out to lunch with her daughter, Dawn—a cherished tradition they shared. Rose Mary also loved the outdoors, gardening, fishing, family gatherings, and spending time with her grandchildren. She had a passion for home decorating and often painted rooms to match her evolving style. A bowling enthusiast, she was a longtime member of a local bowling league and a former member of the Eagles Lodge in Port Clinton.
She is survived by her children: daughter, Dawn (Daniel) Floro of Oak Harbor; sons, Joshua (Jennifer) Crawford and Jack Crawford, both of Port Clinton. Her legacy lives on in her grandchildren: Justine Crawford, Ciara Crawford, Iyan Crawford, Hunter (Brittany) Floro, Drake Floro, Gage Floro, and Shayla Crawford; and her great-grandchildren: Remi, Weston, Layla, and Lana. Rose Mary is also survived by thirteen siblings and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Steve, and her infant twin son, Justin Crawford.
In keeping with Rose Mary’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services. Cremation has taken place. The family was assisted by Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory in Port Clinton.
