Rose Marie Kirkbride

Rose Marie Kirkbride, age 71, of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully at Promedica Toledo Hospital on May 11, 2016. She was born May 23, 1944 in Napoleon, Ohio to Ralph Fahringer and Gertrude (Hoeffel) Fahringer. She attended Bryan High School for three and a half years and graduated from Napoleon High School in 1962. In 1965 she graduated from St. Vincent School of Nursing as a registered nurse. In 1970 she graduated from Mary Manse College with a BSN. Rose Marie was an RN for forty-six years until her retirement in 2011. She worked at St. Vincent Medical Center as a charge nurse and head nurse, then taught at St. Vincent School of Nursing. In 1976 she worked in the office of the late Dr. Thomas Geracioti for twenty-two years and worked for doctors Mehta, deMiguel and Ravindran at the Toledo Clinic for thirteen years prior to retirement. She was a past member of Rosary Cathedral and is currently a member of Gesu Parish. She belonged to St. Vincent School of nursing Alumna and past president of the local chapter of the American Nephrology Nurses Association and Kidney Foundation of Northwest Ohio. She is survived by her husband of forty-four years, John; daughters, Wendy (Keith) Rusie, Sarah (Scott) Hurley and Susan Kirkbride. Also surviving are grandchildren, Zora, Emerson, Grant, Evan and sister, Ruth Ann (Wayne) Vreeland. Rose Marie was preceded in death by her parents and infant sister, Mary Gertrude. Rose Marie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Visitation will be held at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave, Toledo, OH on Saturday, May 14 from 2-8PM. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, May 16 at Gesu Roman Catholic Church, 2049 Parkside Blvd, Toledo, OH at 12PM. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
