Rose E. Mccarthy Janas

Rose E. (McCarthy) Janas, 91, of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away Monday, September 10, 2018 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio (Perrysburg). She was born in Toledo, Ohio on November 30, 1926 to Martin J. and Mary (Spellman) McCarthy. Rose married her sweetheart, Stanley A. Janas on September 1, 1951 in Toledo, Ohio and together they spent almost 66 years together until his passing on May 15, 2017. She was a faithful member of St. Rose Catholic Church, where she was in the Altar Society and volunteered in the school cafeteria. She belonged to a bridge and knitting club with many of her closest lady friends. Rose was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many who will be deeply missed. Rose was very proud of her Irish heritage, having traveled to Ireland on two occasions. She also had a strong devotion to Padre Pio and St. Mother Theresa, who she had the opportunity to meet and hold hands with in prayer. Rose is survived by her son, John (Kris) Janas of Rossford, OH; daughter, Kathleen (Kevin) Rokavec of Morristown, TN; special grandson, Ryan Janas and many nieces and nephews. Along with her husband, Stanley, she was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Mary and brothers, Tom, Marty and John. Friends will be received on Friday, September 14, 2018 from 3:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. in the Witzler Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 (419-874-3133) where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. Prayers will be held in the funeral home, Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 9:45 A.M. where a Funeral Mass will follow at St. Rose Catholic Church, 215 E. Front Street, Perrysburg, Ohio, 43551 at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow in St. Rose Cemetery.
