Rosalyn “Honey” (Newbirt) Nagel was born in Toledo, Ohio to Mollie and George Newbirt. She graduated from Central Catholic High School and attended the University of Toledo.
Honey worked in several office positions throughout her life. She also enjoyed giving back to her community, volunteering at the Toledo Humane Society, helping with luncheons at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, and working church rummage sales with her friend Mary.
She loved playing tennis, spending time with lifelong friends, and treasured her many adventures and travels with her sister Carolyn, her best friend and confidante.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Otto “Bud” Nagel; her daughter, Jodi Parcher; her daughter-in-law, Susan Rice Nagel; and her brother-in-law, Jerry Cook.
She is survived by her son, Jeff; her beloved granddaughter, Kelsey (Ryan) Queenan; her three great-granddaughters, Logan Rose, Carlin Elizabeth, and Juliette Marie; her sister, Carolyn Cook; her son-in-law, Chris Parcher; her nieces and nephews, Eric (Ann) Cook, Trina Cook, and Cristy Cook; her great-nieces and great-nephews; and many other loving relatives on both her side of the family and Bud’s.
Honey will be remembered for her kind heart and joyful spirit that made her so easy to love. She cared deeply for her family, her friends, and every animal that crossed her path. Honey and Bud had many beloved canine companions over the years. Her dog Riley stayed by her side until his passing, and her sweet cat Murray brought her comfort in her later years.

Per her wishes, there will be no visitation. A private burial will take place. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Toledo Humane Society.
