Rosalie Jean Wilburn

Rosalie J. Wilburn, 68, of Port Clinton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 16, 2022, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, after a lengthy illness. She was born on October 12, 1954, the daughter of John and Shirley (Thomson) Hensley, who preceded her in death. She married the love of her life, Herbert Wilburn, on February 9, 1974, in Port Clinton.

Rose was employed for 30 years by the Port Clinton Schools. She began her career as a school bus driver for 25 years and as a custodian for the middle school for five years. After her retirement she loved to spend time with her “girls”, daughters, granddaughters, and nieces shopping or just running around! When Rose was at home, she could be found relaxing in the sun on her porch with her canine companions nearby.

Rose is survived by her husband of over 48 years, Herbert, daughters, Sharon (Paul) Rosario and Heather Wilburn, granddaughters, Cierra, Blake, Nora, and Elise Rosario, sister, Sharon Clauson and brother, Robert (Betty) Hensley. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, John Hensley, and sisters, Ellen Haro and Kathleen Laurel.

Rose’s family will be scheduling a memorial service at a later date. Cremation will take place under the direct care of the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 216 Washington Street, Port Clinton, Ohio.
