Rosa Harris

April 4, 1944 — July 31, 2025

Rosa Mae (Scott) Harris 81 was born April 4, 1944, in Louisville, Mississippi, to the union of Wesley Scott and Willa Mae Truss. Rosa departed this life on July 31, 2025. Rosa was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose love, strength, and grace touched the lives of all who knew her. When Rosa was a young girl she moved from Mississippi to Toledo, Ohio with her family where she graduated from Scott High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from Lourdes College. Rosa was a devoted member of True Vine Missionary Baptist Church, where she found strength in the Lord and the community. Her love for the Lord was reflected in the way she lived her life with kindness, grace, and deep care for others. While at True Vine, Rosa was a devoted choir member and Director of youth services. Rosa worshiped the lord faithfully and loved sharing her beautiful singing voice with the congregation or anyone who listened. Her voice uplifted many and brought you comfort and peace during times of joy and sorrow. Rosa loved being a mother so much that she shared her heart and home as a foster mother to many children nurturing them with the same compassion and love that she showered her own children with. Rosa was a woman of many talents, she loved to sew, cook, travel, talk smack with people, laugh, and sing but she really loved talking to her sisters and doing everything with them. Rosa gave those around her a hard time in the most loving way, always with tough love and a sense of humor that made her unforgettable. Rosa had a gift for making people laugh and bringing joy wherever she went. Her sense of humor, kindness, love and strength left a lasting impression on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. She will truly be missed.
