Ronnie Tanner has taken his final curtain call to a standing ovation on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital from complications of open heart surgery, surrounded by family and good looking nurses. He was born on December 14, 1943 in Henderson Kentucky to William and Claudia Tanner. Ronnie grew up and attended school in Evansville, Indiana. He moved to Crawfordsville, Indiana where he “adopted” his wife, Cheryl, from the dog pound where he was the dog catcher. Ronnie and Cheryl were married for 47 years and have three children, Bill Hiatt, Megan (Bob Williams) and David (Amy), and six grandchildren, Cody Sisler, Robert, Lacey, Elijah Williams, Kate and Jack Tanner. He was meat manager at Hovis Super -Value in Elmore until it closed and Kazmaiers in Perrysburg. Ronnie enjoyed performing in shows at Genoa Civic Theater and Oregon Community Theater. He was always quite the character. Although we mourn him, we will remember to laugh at the good times. He enjoyed breakfast at Anna’s, card club, dancing to The Watermelon Men, cruises with many good friends, trips to Jolly Roger, dozing in the Lazy Boy, and his love of good fried food and popcorn. Ronnie was a patient husband, father, grandfather and friend, who will never be replaced in our hearts. Visitation will be held at Hoeflinger-Shank Funeral Home, 3500 Navarre Ave., Oregon, OH on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 from 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. Funeral Services will take place on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 10 a.m. followed by burial at Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northwest Ohio.
