Ronald P. Watt passed away on February 25, 2024, at the age of 80. Ron was born on March 3, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan to Ronald C. and Bertha (Klotz) Watt.

Ron graduated from Port Clinton High School and went on to earn a degree in Business Education from Bowling Green State University. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1965.

On January 14, 1967, he married the love of his life, Betty J. (Atwater) Watt, in Oak Harbor, Ohio. Together they shared 57 years of love, laughter, and memories. Ron's career spanned many roles, beginning at the Ford Plant in Sandusky, Ohio. He also worked as a night program supervisor for Adult Basic Education at Vanguard Career Center in Fremont, Ohio, and as a substitute business teacher at Oak Harbor High School. Ron also taught business classes at Penta County School and Terra Technical College. He later retired from Materion in Elmore, Ohio as a departmental accountant.

He was an accomplished bowler and dedicated youth league coach in Oak Harbor. Beyond bowling, Ron enjoyed tennis, pool, racquetball, laughs, coffee with many in the community, and his daily trips to the local grocery store. But it was his love of Halloween that stood out the most. For over 25 years, he delighted his grandchildren and neighborhood children by dressing up in costumes and handing out candy to trick-or-treaters.

Ron was best known for his warm and friendly personality. His words of encouragement and kindness touched everyone he met, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Ron is survived by his loving wife, Betty Jane Watt, children, Lisa Benner of Oak Harbor and Mark (Shari) Watt of Puyallup, Washington; grandchildren, Lindsey and Tyler Watt of Puyallup, and Adam Benner and Andrew (Katie) Benner of Oak Harbor; step-grandchildren, Trissa and Amanda of Puyallup; his brother, Robert Watt of Oak Harbor; and many nieces and nephews.
