After a very full life, Ronald Leroy Rudolph passed away on June 10, 2021 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo, Ohio. He was born in Findlay, Ohio on August 10,1940 to Eurple “Rudy” and Ruth (Jaegle) Rudolph. He graduated from Woodward High School in Toledo in 1958. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1958 and proudly served his country. His van bumper sticker reads “University of Parris Island, November 10,1775.” Ron worked for many years at General Motors Powertrain in Toledo. He took college classes at night after working a full day to become a journeyman pipefitter. He retired from GM in 1992. He married Joyce Posey in 1958 in Toledo. They had seven children. He then married Cheryl Browning in 1992. He was a past Worshipful Master of Sylvania Pyramid Lodge and a member of two gun clubs. He is survived by his wife Cheryl; children Theresa (Jim “Butch”) Smith, Whitehouse; Ken (Cathi) Rudolph, Port Clinton; Lorri Smith, Ocklawaha, Florida; John (Stephanie) Rudolph, Toledo; and Mindy (Steve) Keene, Toledo; brother James (JoEllen) Petoskey, Michigan; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren with another on the way. His daughters, Melinda and Jill Rudolph preceded him in death. He is also survived by dear friends Joyce and Larry Moran of Ocklawaha, Florida, Ron’s favorite hobbies were hunting, fishing and trap and skeet shooting. His most enjoyable times were those he spent on his rural property “Rudy’s Roost” near Pioneer, Ohio. He became a beekeeper and landlord for many purple martins. The Rudolph family and friends’ campout was an annual event. He was a dedicated loving husband, father and brother who was very proud of all his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved nature and passed that love and knowledge onto his children and following generations through fishing trips and a special grandchildren’s event every summer. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday July 1 at 11:00 at Toledo Memorial Park at 6382 Monroe Street, Sylvania. Meet at the office parking lot prior to the service. Scattering of ashes will be held after the memorial service. A luncheon will be held at 12:00 noon at Spaghetti Warehouse, 42 South Superior Street, Toledo. Ron’s family thanks the wonderful caring staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The family is also grateful for all Ron’s friends who so enriched his life.
