Ronald Pidcock

September 22, 1936 — April 3, 2026

It is with deep love and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dad, grandpa, and friend, Ron, who passed away on April 3, 2026, at the age of 89.

Ron was, above all else, a devoted husband. He shared 65 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Judy. They were true partners in life, best friends who did everything together. Whether it was traveling with friends, cheering on their favorite teams, or simply being with family, they were rarely apart. Just 157 days after Judy's passing, he joined her again reunited, just as they were always meant to be.

Ron was a gentle soul, known by all who loved him as someone who truly wouldn't hurt a fly. His kindness, patience, and steady presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

A proud United States Marine, Ron carried a quiet strength and humility throughout his life. He was a graduate of Scott High School and worked as a draftsman, often joking that his claim to fame was "making" the camera atop the Toledo Zoo overpass.

Football was one of Ron's greatest passions. He dedicated 48 years to coaching for the Southview Little Cougars and was known simply as "Coach" to so many. His impact went far beyond the field; he and Judy continued to support his former players as they grew, following them through their high school years and beyond. He was also a devoted fan of Ohio State and Sylvania Southview, rarely missing a chance to cheer them on.

Ron was the ultimate family man. As "Poppy," he was a constant, loving presence in the lives of his grandchildren. He and Judy were their biggest supporters, faithfully attending games, performances, and countless extracurricular activities. No matter the event, Poppy and Garn could be found in the stands proud, encouraging, and always cheering them on.

Ron is survived by his children, Eric Pidcock and Julie (Ron) Breeden; his grandchildren, Ainsley (Brandon), Alex, Eric (Maddie), Sydney (Craig), Evan (Chloe), Ally (Austen), and Ethan (Amelia); and his great-grandchildren, Finn, Ayla, and Georgia. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Mary Jane Ryan; nephews Kelly Carver, Tim Brahier, and Shawn Kazmierczak; and niece Natalie Carver.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Pidcock; his parents, Kermit and Florence Pidcock; his sister, Judy (Mike) Kazmierczak; his brother-in-law, Bill Ryan; and his nephew, Kevin Carver.

Ron had a special love for animals and a way of making people feel at home. He and Judy were part of a close-knit group of friends affectionately known as "Frick and Frack," sharing many years of laughter, friendship, and memorable trips together.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ron's life at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave, Toledo, OH, on Thursday, April 9th, 2025, from 4:00-6:00pm for a visitation with a Service and sharing of stories from 6:00-7:00pm

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the compassionate care and support they provided. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Ron will be remembered for his quiet strength, his unwavering love, and the countless lives he touched through his kindness, coaching, and devotion to family. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved him forever. He will be deeply missed.
