Ronald D. Keller, 90, of Marblehead, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky, Ohio. Ron was the son of Dale and Ruth (Kirchberg) Keller, born in Clinton, Ohio on December 1, 1934. Ron enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp and served during the Korean War from 1954-1956.
Ron was a “people person” who dedicated his life to service as a police officer for the Walton Hills Police Department for 28 years, retiring as it’s chief in 1990. Many people knew Ron by his first name in Walton Hills and often stopped him just to talk. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, VFW Post #7572, Marblehead, Ohio, and St. John Lutheran Church, Marblehead. He was very active in the Northern Ohio Beagle Club. He enjoyed hunting, but had a true passion for fishing, especially for Walleye in Lake Erie. He and his family took annual trips to Canada on Lake Kipawa, and made many happy memories.
Ron is survived by his children, Richard Keller, Daniel (Lesley) Keller, Kathy (Jeff) Duale, and Dale (Tammi) Keller, mother of his children, Janette Keller, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and sister, Cora Lee Gephart. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles Keller.
A Celebration of Ron’s Life service will be conducted at a date to be determined in the Spring of 2025. The Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory of Port Clinton, Ohio is assisting the family with arrangements.
