Ronald J. Karrenbauer

Ronald John Karrenbauer, age 79, of Maumee, Ohio passed away on Monday, October 8, 2018 at Hospice of Northwest, Ohio, Perrysburg, Ohio after a brief battle with cancer. He was born on March 30, 1939 in Massillon, Ohio to John and Irene (Weber) Karrenbauer. Ron married his high school sweetheart, Marilyn Hoffman, on May 30th, 1964 in Massillon, OH. They moved to Warren OH, where they raised 5 children. Ron taught Latin, Ancient Greek, English, woodshop and choir at John F Kennedy H.S. in Warren, OH for 44 years. He also directed numerous church choirs over the years and was the “Voice of the Eagles”, announcing the Kennedy HS football games for decades. He enjoyed oil painting, carpentry and restoring old furniture and homes. He loved discussing the finer points of language, politics, religion and Cleveland Indians baseball. His faith in Christ and devotion to the Catholic faith were the lens through which he viewed the world and his role as husband, father and teacher. Ron is survived by daughters Kathleen (Bill) Albrecht, Tracy (John) Marcarello, Jamie (Doug) Wood, Heidi (Brett) Ames, and son Dirk (Kelly) Karrenbauer; grandchildren Thomas, Alyssa, Emma, Emily, Marlee, Jackson, Allie, Audrey and Estelle. Ron is preceded in death by his wife Marilyn (Hoffman) Karrenbauer, his parents, John Karrenbauer and Irene (Weber) Karrenbauer and siblings Ruth Karrenbauer, infant John Karrenbauer, William Karrenbauer and Robert Karrenbauer. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 10:00am – 11:00 am at St. Josephs Catholic Church, 104 W. Broadway in Maumee, with the Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 am.
