Ronald G. Johnson 65, of Elmore, died Sunday evening, June 24, 2018, at Mercy-St. Charles Hospital in Oregon. Ronald was born June 11, 1953, in Genoa to Charles Johnson and Evelyn (Teegarden) Stonerook. On August 18, 1971, in Vanceburg, KY, he married Hazel Irene Bloomfield and she survives. He is also survived by his three sons, Thomas Andy (Heather), Charles Tony (fiancé, Tracy), both of Genoa, and James JJ (Tara) of Gibsonburg. He is survived by twelve grandchildren: Lisa and Tori, Charlie, Kyle and Kayley, James, Devin, Austin, Destiny and Cameron, Austin and Kimberly; and great grandson, Jayden. He is survived by his brothers, Rick, Larry and Danny, and sisters, Trudy and Shirley, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by both parents, brother, Jackie, nephews, David, Johnny and Daniel; mother-in-law, Rhoda Gibson; brother-in-law, Emil Bloomfield; and sister-in-law, Donna Spooneybarger. Ron worked at Martin-Marietta in Woodville until his retirement. His favorite hobbies were fishing, four-wheeling to the woods, mushroom hunting, gathering fruit from the trees and having a large garden to enjoy, and listening to loud music. He was often times found cooking something up in the kitchen or riding his lawn mower, which was another of his favorite outdoor activities. He also loved shopping-both online and in the stores. Ron was most happy when he was surrounded by all of his babies, both big and small. Paw Paw will be greatly missed. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m., Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, with the family present from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 28, 2018, in the funeral home with burial to follow in Harris-Elmore Union Cemetery, Elmore. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorials for Ron be given to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
