Ronald A. Hilfinger, 83, of Maumee, passed away Friday, September 1, 2017, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio surrounded by his loving family. Ron was born January 7, 1934, in Toledo, Ohio, to Howard and Mildred (Williams) Hilfinger, and served our country in the United States Air Force. Ron earned his bachelor’s degree in business from Miami University in Oxford, where he met the love of his life Winifred Geyer whom he married on July 7, 1956, in Racine, Wisconsin. She preceded him in death on April 7, 2016. Ron was plant manager for Supreme Bumpers for nearly 25 years. He was an avid golfer and reader, and loved to travel with Wini all over the world visiting family and friends along the way. He enjoyed a very social life with old and new friends in things like Bridge Club, Shrimp Club, and Senior Scramble. He also loved to spend time with his family cheering on the Browns and Wolverines, especially at “manny” time. Ron is survived by his children: Julie (Todd) Wilson, John (Laila) Hilfinger, Sara (William) Costello and Tom (Shauna) Hilfinger; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Howard “Skip” Hilfinger, as well as the love of his life, Wini. Friends will be received Saturday, September 16, 2017, from 2-4 P.M. at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg (419-874-3133) with a memorial service beginning at 4:00 P.M. Burial will be private in Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Road, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551.
