Ronald J. Frankevic

December 11, 1939 — June 1, 2023

Ronald “Ron” John Frankevic passed away peacefully on the evening of June 1, 2023 at The University of Toledo Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. He was born on December 11, 1939 in Toledo, Ohio to John and Sophia Frankevic. Ron graduated from Macomber High School and on January 7, 1965, earned his Journeyman’s Card as a Toolmaker.

In 1956, Ron met the love of his life and future wife, Jackie Minton. Ron and Jackie dated for two years before marrying on November 15, 1958. The love that they had for one another is what people strive for their entire lives. You never saw one of them without knowing that the other was close by.

Ron may have been a man of few words, but possessed a plethora of talents. His most notable talent would have been the ability to build anything he dreamt up. If you could think it, he could build it. This includes the home that Ron and Jackie built in 1976 and lived in for 47 years. He and Jackie would raise their three boys, Steve, Larry and John in the house that everybody seemed to know of, at the end of the street on Green Valley Drive.

Ron applied his broad range of talents at O'Connell Machine Tool, Malik Tool, Dana Corporation, and moved on to Chrylser, where he worked for many years before retiring in 2004. Ron was always known for being an extremely hard worker who rarely took the time to rest or even slow down. The one thing, or should I say seven, that made him stop and enjoy life a little more were his seven grandchildren. He could be seen behind his state-of-the-art video camera at every event, big or small, for Keegan, Gage, Reid, Holden, Devon, Adisyn and Harlow. He captured so many unforgettable memories that we are forever grateful.

Ron is preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Jackie Frankevic; his parents John and Sophia; sister, Trina Schott; and son-in-law, John Cereso. He is survived by his three sons; Steve (Marla) Frankevic; Larry (Mark) Frankevic-Cereso; John (Michelle) Frankevic; sister, Janice Taylor; and his seven grandchildren, with one great grandchild arriving in October 2023.
