Ronald Ray Baum

Ronald R. Baum, age 47, of Toledo, passed away January 3, 2012 in his residence. He was born October 27, 1964 in Jackson, Michigan to John and Joanne Kelly Baum. Ron was a 1983 graduate of Whitmer High School. After graduation he was employed at Valvoline Instant Oil Change as a technician eventually working his way up to managing 3 locations. In 1988, he began as a corrections officer for the Lucas County Sherriffs Office. He then attended the police academy becoming a deputy and road patrol officer. Illness forced him to leave the Sherriffs Office in 2010. Ron was preceded in death by his sister, Tammy Elizabeth Baum and grandmother, Eleanor C. Baum. Surviving are his parents, John and Joanne Baum; son, Hunter Jacob Baum; a host of Aunts and Uncles; and special friends, Molly Mason and Steve Przymierski. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 from 1-4:00pm and 6-8:00pm at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to a charity of the donors choice.
