Ronald C. Banas

Ronald C. Banas age 80 of Maumee passed away on Tuesday November 29, 2011 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. Ron was born in Toledo on September 30, 1931 to Frank and Theresa Mraz Banas. Ron was employed at Biniker Construction in maintenance for 35 years. He was a member of St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. Ron enjoyed attending his grandchildrens sporting events, painting pictures, gardening, woodworking, westerns and playing poker. He will be remembered for his amazing sense of humor and his ability to make others laugh. He is survived by the love of his life Marlene Kwapich whom he married on April 24, 1954; son, Glenn Ann Banas; daughters, Debbie Jeff Butler, Laura Banas, Karen Roger Peterson; grandchildren, Nichole Jeff, Hillary Rick, Mac Annie, Jenna Waseem, Karin Phil, Justin Stephanie, Rachael Adam, Katelynn, Danielle, Nathan; great-grandchildren, Luke, Maddy, Braaden, Ryan, Yasmeen, Sienna, Kensington, Colton and Landon. Also surviving is his brother, James Arlene Banas and sister in-law, Donna Tom Piasecki. In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his great-granddaughter, Lorelei. Family and Friends may visit the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home 501 Conant St. Maumee on Thursday December 1, 2011 from 3-8 pm where funeral services will begin on Friday at 9:15 am followed by Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Catholic Church.
