Ron R. Lincoln

RON R. LINCOLN of Holland, Ohio passed away peacefully in Sarasota, Florida on March 21, 2016 surrounded by family. Ron was born on August 9, 1940 in Toledo Ohio. Ron will be missed by his wife Nancy (nee Tarnovsky) of 52 years; loving father of Jenai Makulinski (Brian) of Westlake, Ohio and Todd Lincoln (Lisa) of Perrysburg, Ohio; proud grandfather of Merideth, Mitchell, and Mason Makulinski, Ty, Trent and Taytum Lincoln; beloved son of the late Virginia (nee Kusian) and Robert Lincoln; dear brother of Tom Lincoln (Claire); and uncle to Jeff Lincoln (Melissa). Ron was a 1958 graduate of Waite High School where he was very active in many clubs as well as a gifted athlete playing football, baseball, basketball & track. He excelled in football and went on to play at the University of Wisconsin for 2.5 years before a career ending injury sent him home where he earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Toledo. In 2015, Ron was honored for his business success and community service as one of Waite High School Alumni Association’s Distinguished Alumni. Ron’s professional career spanned 35 years at Libbey Glass where he began as an Industrial Engineer and retired as Director of Marketing. In addition, he is the co-owner of V.E. Petersen Company with his brother Tom. Ron belonged to many professional, athletic and community organizations over the years where he held board positions. He and Nancy were very active in Stone Oak Country Club where they met many wonderful and supportive friends throughout the years. A Memorial Service will take place at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 9, 2016 in the Epworth United Methodist Church, 4855 W. Central Ave, Toledo, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Ronald Lincoln to the ALS Association – Northern Ohio Chapter at 6155 Rockside Rd., Suite 403, Independence, Ohio 44131 (www.alsa.org) or Epworth United Methodist Church.
