Roman F Gardocki

Roman F. Gardocki, 84, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Sunday December 19th at the Ebeid Hospice Residence after a long illness. He was born August 10, 1926 in Toledo to Frank and Frances Gardocki. A veteran of the US Navy he served in World War II on the USS Admiral Hugh Rodeman AP126 Troop Transport. Romie was a police officer with the Toledo Police Department from 1950 to 1981 retiring as a Sergeant. He was a 60 year member of Gesu Church, Life member of Buddy Frankowski Post 5530 VFW, Police Post 512 of the American Legion and a member of the Toledo Police Command Officers Association. Preceded in death by his daughter Ann Marie; he is survived by his wife of 60 years Rosemarie; daughters Elaine and Julia; son Paul Alice Gardocki; grandchildren John and Kathryn Gardocki; and 2 nephews. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday December 21st, 2010 from 2-5 and 6-8 PM at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W Sylvania Avenue Toledo, OH. Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday at 11 AM in Gesu Church, 2049 Parkside Blvd Toledo, OH 43607. Please meet at the church. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. American Legion Police Post 512 will conduct services at 7 PM Tuesday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Gesu Church.
