Rolland I. Hansen

Rolland I. Hansen, 93, of Clay Center, Ohio died Tuesday, February 6, 2018 while a resident of Perrysburg Commons, Perrysburg, Ohio. Rolland was born in Oak Harbor, Ohio on November 4, 1924 the son of John A.J. and Margareta (Lenke) Hansen. On October 8, 1946 he married the love of his life, Hilda H. Zunk and after 49 years of marriage, she preceded him in death on January 24, 1995. Rolland was a millwright for the Libby Owens Ford Company for 32 years, retiring in 1978. He served in the U.S. Army from 1944-1946 and was honorably discharged a Staff Sergeant. Rolland was a member of the former Clay Center Volunteer Fire Department and served as its chief for 25 years. He also was a member of the Genoa Lodge #433 F A M for many years. Rolland and Hilda loved to travel and had visited all 50 states mostly in their motor home. Fishing and hunting were also one of Rollands favorite pastimes. Rolland is survived by his children, Roland Buck Hansen, Terry Hansen, and Marsha (Dan) Wolf, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He is survived by his brother, Ralph Hansen, sisters, Martha Jamie, Margaret Schert and Leona Behlmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Hilda, daughter, Susan Norwalk, grandson, Charles Wolf, sister, Marie, and brothers, Fredrick, Carl, Martin, Marvin and Walter. A funeral service for Rolland will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 10, 2018 in St. John Lutheran Church, 21140 W. Toledo St., Williston, OH. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m., Friday, February 9, 2018 in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 501 West St. Genoa, OH. A Masonic service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m.in the funeral home on Friday. Interment will be in the Elliston Cemetery along with military services. The family has suggested that memorials be directed to the Allen-Clay Joint Fire District, Station #35, 3155 N. Genoa-Clay Center Rd., Genoa, OH 43430; St. John Lutheran Church, P.O.
