Roger R. Kinsey, 74, of Port Clinton, OH passed away Friday, August 09, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 26, 1938 in Fremont, OH, the son of Donald and Dora Reeves Kinsey. Roger was a 1956 graduate of Port Clinton High School, he served in the U. S. Navy and also earned his Journeyman Tool & Die card. On December 24, 1963 in Michigan, he married Catherine Wright and she preceded him in death on February 23, 1989. He worked as a tool & die maker for New Departure/GM in Sandusky, OH for 32 years until his retirement in 1999. Roger was a former member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Port Clinton. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #1610, the Sandusky Eagles Club and the United Auto Workers union. Roger was an arborist who enjoyed collecting trees. He loved to work on anything mechanical, restoring an old 1951 Chevy truck, boat motors and tractors. Roger will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Survivors include: Children: Lisa Tracy Bodi of Port Clinton, Amy Tommy Harper of Memphis, TN, Robert Cindy Kinsey of Oak Harbor and Mary Kinsey; Grandchildren: Brandon Amber Harper, Eric Reynolds, Corey Harper, Ashley Sehlmeyer and Jay Harper; Sister: Margie Keith Wagner of Franklin, KY and Special Friend: Sherry Otto of Huron, OH. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother: Warren Kinsey, sisters: Doris Bahnsen and Barbara Lundgard and grandson: Nicholas Robert Kinsey. A Graveside service will be conducted by Pastor Bruce Batchelor-Glader at 11:00am, Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH, with military honors conducted by the American Legion Post #113. Memorial contributions in memory of Roger may be given to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870. Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, OH, assisted the family with arrangements.
