Rodney L.E. Robinson

Rodney L.E. Robinson, 81, of Waterville, OH passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Ebeid Hospice of Sylvania. He was born on June 18, 1936 to Dale and Olive (Burmeister) Robinson in Toledo, OH. Rodney served in the National Guard and Army. He was stationed in Germany in the Armory Tank Division with an honorable discharge in September 1961. He worked with different railroads retiring as an Engineer with Conrail in 1998. Rod was a family man and loved spending time with them at Nettle Lake. He would play his guitar and harmonica around the campfire. Rod was also a member of the American Legion, VFW, and FOE. He is preceded in death by his parents; and loving wife of 49 years, Mary Etta, who passed in 2006. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Mary (John) Tansey, Larry (Mary) Kwapich, Dan (Denise) Robinson, Janet (Sean) Hardy, Tim Robinson; step son Joe (Deb) Smith; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren. Visitation will take place at Hoeflinger-Shank Funeral Home, 3500 Navarre Ave., Oregon, OH on Thursday, May 3, 2018 from 2 p.m. until the start of the Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m. Memorial Contributions may be made to Ebeid Hospice or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
