Rocco Rista

Rocco Rista, age, 81, passed away unexpectedly Friday, October 21, 2011 in his home. He was born March 7, 1930 in Coreapolis, PA to Joseph and Anna Balcastro Rista. Rocco served his country in the US Marine Corps serving during the Korean War. He was employed for over 40 years with the former East Side Automotive and currently Garys East Side Automotive. Rocco was a Toledo Storm fan and in his early days enjoyed playing softball. He was a former member of the Marine Corps League and VFW Goodman and Goldstein Post. Rocco enjoyed working with his hands and could build or fix anything. He also volunteered his time with Camp Courageous. Rocco is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Olive Kirkendall Rista whom he married May 9, 1953; daughters, Margie Patrick Fejes and Anna Miller; grandchildren, Zachary and Jacob Miller, Glenda Alden Peterson and Brenda Nelson Manning; and great grandchildren, A.J. and Austin Peterson and Michaela and Moni Manning. In addition to his parents, Rocco was preceded in death by his son, Ricci Rista and all his siblings. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at 11:00 am at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church 1825 Glendale Ave Toledo, OH 43614.
