Roberta R. Snider, age 61, of Toledo, died September 19, 2022 from a brain hemorrhage at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. She was born January 30, 1961, in Toledo and attended Whitmer High School.
Roberta had two major strokes more than 20 years ago that limited her ability to work but had previously been employed as a comptroller at the Meridian Plaza Hotel in Oklahoma.
Roberta was extremely competitive and loved sports. She played softball in her younger years and was an avid fan of Ohio State football and basketball. Determined to live her life as full as possible, the highlights of Roberta’s life were enjoying her twelve longtime friends at monthly bunco games, representing the Ability Center by throwing the first pitch at a Mud Hens Game, modeling for the Ability Center’s Annual Style show for three years, engaging in common but mostly good-natured sibling competitions, and most recently, donating her body to science to improve the lives of others. She was always kind and sweet, devoted to her son to whom she spoke with every day.
She is survived by her son, Louis Snider; mother, Alice Gerding-Schorling; siblings, Scott (Robin) Gerding, Andrea (David) Mingione, Rebecca Collins (her beloved twin sister), Michael Gerding, and David (Kathryn) Gerding; numerous nieces and nephews; and her dog and best friend, Lucy. Roberta was preceded in death by her father, James Gerding, and stepfather, Dennis Schorling.
Family and friends are invited to visit from 2-6 p.m., Sunday, September 25, 2022, in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) where funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 26, 2022. Burial will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
