Robert Paul Wingart, age 87, of Toledo, passed away October 5, 2008 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Inpatient Unit. He was born in Upper Sandusky, Ohio on October 20, 1920 to Otto C. and Ethel Weaver Wingart. He honorably served during WWII in the U.S. Air Force and was a pilot in the South Pacific. He married the love of his life, Rita Helmer, on May 6, 1944 in Waco, Texas during wartime. They celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary this past year. Paul was a prominent trial lawyer and Senior Partner with the law offices of Neipp and Wingart. He was a former member of Sylvania Country Club where he enjoyed playing golf and was a 50+ year member of Conn Weissenberger American Legion where he was Past Commander. Paul was also a member of the Toledo, Lucas County and the Ohio State Bar Associations and he was accepted to practice in the U.S. and Ohio Supreme Court. He is survived by his loving wife, Rita; sister, Eleanor McClow; and nephews nieces, Mary Ann, Carol Beldon, David Myers, Lyle McClow , Richard Wingart, Linda Marchall, William J. Bracy, D. Michael Collins, Gerald Lawicki and Mary Pat Hobbs. Friends may visit with the family at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave., west of Corey Rd. on Wednesday from 2-5 pm to 7-8 pm with Scripture Service at 7:30 pm. Prayers will begin at the funeral home on Thursday at 9:30 am followed by Mass of the Resurrection at 10:00 am at Christ the King Church, 4100 Harvest Lane. Entombment will be at Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Conn Weissenberger Scholarship Fund or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
