Bob Williams

Robert “Bob” Williams, age 80, of Toledo, passed away in his home on July 31st, 2023. Born June 15th, 1943, Bob spent his life in Toledo working as a construction worker, truck driver, and finally as a property manager in retirement. He always kept himself busy, finding ways to help anyone who needed help.

Bob married Marlene Greene on August 26th, 1972, and they were married for 38 years until Marlene’s passing in 2011. Together they raised three children, Tammy Bennett, Tracy Wendel, and Jason Williams.

Bob had many hobbies, from being a competitor in the National Tractor Pulls Association, to NASCAR, to just tinkering and fixing things. He loved his sweets and was known as “Cookie Bob” to his grandkids. He also loved his dog, Roxie, and cat, Sylvester. More than anything, though, Bob was there to lend a hand to others. At the drop of a hat, he would help with whatever was needed, whether fixing something, or even giving people a place to stay, Bob helped everyone without asking for anything in return. He was a giver, not a taker, he will be greatly missed.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene (Greene) Williams; parents, Harold and Beatrice Williams; brothers, Ronny Williams and Brad Williams; and daughter, Tammy Bennett. He is survived by his children, Jason (Celeste) Williams, and Tracy Wendel; grandchildren, Darren Wendel, Sheldon Wendel, Quinn Johnston, Jennifer Bennett, Glenn Bennett, Vanessa Bennett, Jacob Williams; great-grandchildren, Olivia Wendel, Kynlee Wendel, Rogan Williams; and siblings, Phyliss Waters, Sonny Williams, Sally Norman, Carol, and Keith Williams.

Friends and family are invited to visit at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave, Toledo, on Thursday, August 3rd, 2023 from 4 p.m.-7 p.m., with a time for sharing memories starting at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
