Robert W. Watt

Robert W. Watt, 84, of Port Clinton, OH, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at the Louis Stokes Medical Center in Cleveland, OH. He was born on June 8, 1941, in Detroit, MI, to Ronald C. and Bertha L. (Minier) Watt.

Robert proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War era from 1960 to 1964. Following his service, he worked as a machine repairman for Standard Products in Port Clinton and Kelsey Hayes in Fremont.

A dedicated member of his community, Robert was a member of the Oak Harbor American Legion Post #114 and a charter member of the Erie Township Volunteer Fire Department. He was a devoted fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns. Robert found joy in coaching youth sports for his children. He also enjoyed staying involved in his grandchildren’s activities—from little league through college athletics.

He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, with deer hunting being a favorite pastime. Robert had a love for classic country music and, in his younger years, enjoyed hanging out with his friends at the Avalon. He shared a special bond with his late dog and best friend, “Spuds,” who was always by his side.

Robert’s family will deeply miss his strong work ethic, the example he set, and the many memories made together.

He is survived by his sons, Brian (Marilyn) Watt, Mike (Angie) Watt, and Dan (Dawn) Watt; grandchildren, Nathan (Morgan), Ryan, Megan, and Madison; great-granddaughter, Landry; and sister-in-law, Betty Watt. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ronald Watt.

Private family services will be held, and interment will take place at Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Robert’s memory may be made to Stein Hospice, Sandusky, OH.
