Bob was born to Carol “Whiz” Vogel and Joann (Flowers) Vogel Galliher. in Toledo, Ohio, on November 11, 1948. He graduated in the last class at Westwood High School – class of 1966 and attended Bowling Green State University. On June 9, 1984, he married Patricia Fizer. He was blessed with three daughters, Doreann Vogel, Alison (Greg) Frye and Elizabeth Vogel. Bob was a Realtor and Certified General Appraiser and owned Vogel Valuation. Lutheran Church in Oak Harbor. In his younger days, he was in several bands, including Phred. That group opened for Steppenwolf –an achievement that he was very proud of. His passion for hot and spicy foods led him to cook in chili cook-offs with his friend, Rich. As he perfected his recipe, he started Chili Bob Products and became known as Chili Bob. He later sold the recipes to Tanks Meats, and they have continued the product line. He loved to judge chili cook-offs and never missed a chance to judge the Toledo Mobile Meals Cook-off each year. He and his wife bought the Welly’s Horseradish company and expanded the line. Later the company was sold to Root’s Chicken. Bob is survived by his wife, his daughters and granddaughters, Abigail and Mackenzie Frye, his step mother Shirley Vogel and step father William Galliher, step siblings, Pam (John) Kominek, Tim Galliher, Jeff (Sally) Galliher and Amy Allen, mother-in-law, Donna Fizer, sisters-in-law, Kay Craft and Susan Fizer, and brother-in-law, Larry (Kim) Fizer, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Bob enjoyed volunteering with the Music Department at Oak Harbor High School and “Feed the Team” events with his friend, Doug, and other meals at St. John’s. He loved great music, his dogs, NASCAR and spending time with his friends and family. He was always ready to help others and felt that he was very blessed.
