Robert H. Trettin passed away at the age of 85 in his sleep on July 8, 2009. Bob was born to Otto and Irene Smith Trettin on July 17, 1923. He entered the Army serving in the Battle of the Bulge. After his army days he worked as a mechanic for over 40 years, retiring from Bob Schmidt Chevrolet in 1985. Bob enjoyed scouting with the Turkey Foot District and Troop 252 for 30 years where he was able to carry out his love of hunting, fishing, hiking and canoeing. He served as District Commissioner, Scout Master and Assistant Scout Master. While in scouting, he earned the Award of Merit and Silver Beaver and was a lifetime member of Order of the Arrow. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Sharron Coon; 5 daughters, Paula Elvis Johnson, Christine Robert Resh, Kimberly Jim McArthur, Sandy George Pemberton Trettin, Tina Zeiter; 2 sons, Thomas Kristi Meredith, Keith Meredith and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; 3 sisters and 1 brother. He was preceded in death by his parents. Family and friends may visit at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee, OH on Sunday, July 12, 2009 from 2-8 pm. Graveside services will be held on Monday at 10:00 am at Toledo Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. www.walkerfuneralhome.com.
