Robert A. Thompson

Robert Alan Thompson, 55, of Toledo, died March 22, 2014 in his home. He was born March 11, 1959 in Toledo and graduated from St. Francis De Sales High School in 1977. Bob attended the University of Toledo and had been employed as a systems analyst at Heidtman Steel. An avid sports fan, especially NASCAR and Michigan football, you could always find him watching some sort of game or race every weekend. Bob was highly intelligent and enjoyed building elaborate structures with Legos and Knex. He was also a brilliant pianist, enjoyed gardening and will be fondly remembered for his keen sense of humor. He was also a friend of Bill W. Surviving Bob is his mother, Marlene Roberts; son, Ryan Gina Gueli Thompson; granddaughter, Avery Thompson; sisters, Susan Thompson, Sharon Keith Brower, Cathy Oberly and Mary Matt Carena; and brother, James Thompson. Also surviving Bob is his Goddaughter, Chelsea Carena; former wife, Lisa Shea; step mother, Donna Thompson; step brother, Jonathan Knapp; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. His father, William J. Thompson, preceded Bob in death. Family and friends will be received from 1-6 p.m., Thursday, March 27, 2014 in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd. concluded with a memorial service to celebrate Bobs life at 6 p.m. Memorials are suggested for the benevolence of the family for the future education of Bobs beloved granddaughter.
