Robert Leon Spichiger, age 89, passed away Monday, November 10, 2014 at Kingston Residence in Sylvania. Bob was born February 16, 1925 in Decatur, IN to Edwin and Dora Spichiger. He was a graduate of Hartford High School and served for 3 years in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Bob worked for the U.S. Post Office for 30 years retiring as Post Master in Linn Grove, IN. His hobbies included golf, fishing, traveling, singing, dancing, and playing cards (especially euchre). He was a bass player and loved both playing and listening to music. Bob was a member of the American Legion and VFW in Angola, IN and Cross United Church of Christ. Bob is survived by his children, Michael (Pamela) Spichiger, Theresa (Richard) Meyer, Debra (Dick) Lantz, and Patti (Tiny) Ratcliffe; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and brother, Lloyd (Karen) Spichiger. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Betty. Visitation will be at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) on Thursday, November 13, 2014 from 10:00 am until the time of service at 3:00 pm. Interment will be on Friday at 11:00 am at Circle Hill Cemetery in Angola, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice, 1745 Indian Wood Circle #200 Maumee, OH 43537.
