Robert L. Snyder

Robert L. Snyder, 72, of Sylvania, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Flower Hospital. He was born in Toledo on July 19, 1944 to Raymond and Mildred (Harder) Snyder. After attending Woodward High School he worked at Toledo Jewelry Supply rising to manager which took him to Cleveland, Milwaukee, and Detroit. In 1972, Bob became a life insurance agent with AXA Equitable where he faithfully assisted young and old to save for the future and protect loved ones in case of death or disability. He received national recognition for sales and service over the past 44 years including in 2001 being inducted into the AXA Equitable Hall of Fame. His client became friends and relied on Bob for advise at difficult times in their lives and will be missed by all who knew his kindness and generosity. Later in life Bob loved to build and remodel houses. Bob started his own company, Snyder Builders, and built numerous houses in the Toledo, Waterville, Whitehouse and Sylvania area. He always said he loved building and remodeling houses because he wanted to provide a quality built home to his potential buyers. Bob was an avid golfer, scuba diver, and he loved to travel. He visited many places including, Europe, The Philippines, Mexico, Alaska, and his personal favorite, Grand Cayman Island. He also loved just riding in the wind on his Honda Gold Wing. Bob was a loyal guy who had many long standing friendships and was always there for anyone in need. Bobs greatest passion was taking care of his family. He loved spending time with them all, whether it was a family vacation or a backyard BBQ. If any of them were in need of something he would always find a way to provide it. Bob fought a courageous battle with cancer for the last 3 ½ years. With grace, strength, and courage, he fought as only Bob could fight until the very end.
