SHULTZ Robert James Robert J. Shultz, 76, of Sylvania, died Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at Ebeid Hospice Residence in Sylvania with his family at his side. The son of Carl and Florence Shultz, Bob grew up in St. Agnes Parish and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1953. He then attended the University of Toledo prior to joining his familys business, Toledo Lumber and Millwork. Following his fathers retirement, Bob and his brothers Tom and John ran the family business through the late 1970s. They then owned and operated Shultz Remodeling and Cabinet Company. Bob had a great love for Devils Lake. His family had a cottage there from the mid 1940s until the 1980s. While there, Bob loved water skiing with a group of his friends who also started the Devils Lake Ski Club and built the original ski jump on the lake. Bob and Theresa enjoyed raising their kids and creating many more lasting memories at the lake. After leaving the lake, Bob enjoyed boating on Lake Erie with his friends and family. He kept his boat at Harrison Marina and enjoyed cruising Lake Erie especially to Huron, Ohio. Bob was a member of St. Joseph Parish in Sylvania. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Tom Shultz, and daughter, Linda Shultz. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Theresa; children: Robert Shultz, Jr. Susan, Sandra Shultz, and Jeannie Gibson Brett; grandchildren, Alissa Shultz, Christopher and Melissa Rhoades, Brandon Shultz, Lauren Mann, and Sage Gibson; and brother, John Shultz Betty; and Lindas significant other, Tony Roemmele. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 24, from 4-9PM at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave., where a Scripture Service will be held at 7PM. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, February 25 at 10AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5373 S. Main St., Sylvania. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142; Ebeid Hospice Residence, 5340 Harroun Rd., Sylvania, OH 43560 or your favorite charity.
