SHONEBARGER Robert J. Ironman May 19, 1948 - March 3, 2008 Bob, formerly of Toledo, passed away in Las Vegas, Nevada, doing the job he loved as an ironworker for 40 years. Bob was respected greatly as an ironworker while working all over the country on everything from bridges to baseball fields. He even starred in a Budweiser commercial, For all the hard working men of America, this Buds for you. He had lived in San Diego, CA the last several years. He graduated from Central Catholic in 1966. Bob was a special man with a hearty laugh who left his mark on every person he came across. Bob loved life and spent quite a bit of time doing what he loved most, building and riding Harleys. He is survived by his daughters, Erin David Thomas and Mary K John Holcomb; four grandsons, Zack, Eric, Noah and Nathan; mother, Elaine Shonebarger; brothers, Gerald and Dennis Shonebarger; sisters, Lois James Shonebarger-Smith and Carol Andreas Timothy; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, Bernard R. Shonebarger. A memorial was held in Las Vegas on March 5th for his extended family: The strong, brave, big hearted ironworkers of the United States who will miss him on the job dearly. Friends and family will be received at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave. at Corey Rd., 419-841-2422, on Saturday, March 15th from 3-5 p.m. for a memorial service.
