Robert Scott Shern, 50, died Friday, May 6, 2022, at The Toledo Hospital. The son of Robert and Dorothy Shern, Scott was born in Paoli, PA. He moved with his family to Ottawa Hills in time to start 5 th grade. He was a 1989 graduate of Ottawa Hills High School and attended The University of Cincinnati before returning to the Toledo area to go into business with his father. They founded The Pretzel Stop and the Fiesta Cantina at Franklin Park Mall and The World Tea Company. Scott later joined his father-in-law and brother-in-law at VASKO Company, Inc. in purchasing. Scott was currently a partner at VASKO as well as a real estate investor.
A member of Stone Oak Country Club, Scott loved to golf and enjoyed his time at the club. He loved his lake house on Johnson’s Island and enjoyed boating. Scott was a car and watch buff. He was a member at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Scott was very social, loved people, and had many good friends.
He is survived by his wife, Angela (DeMarco) Shern; and daughters, Ellen, Marla, and Grace Shern. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jennifer Shern.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m., Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.), where a sharing of memories service will take place at 7:30 p.m. A memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 5856 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo. Entombment will be private at Resurrection Cemetery.
